Send to a friend I wanted to quit my recent job right now. First, I really don't like the job. I just needed one but I'm not happy every time that I go to work. Second, I also heard that I am going to be terminated because of my low stats. So my option is, before I get terminated, I'll just resign right? But something happened, My supervisor asked me to sing with him in a duet competition in our office. Of course, how would I say no to my superior? So a day before I decided to quit, i was asked to join the contest and I say yes. Knowing that this is only one time, win or not, I will still resign the next week. Until we were picked to compete for the finals that was going to be held on December. I am so shocked! Now what am I going to do? A lot of people especially on our department wanted us to win. My stats are getting lower for I am so pressured not only because of the work but also with the people around me. I am afraid that If i still quit, I will be so unfair to by supervisor. If I stay and and get terminated because of my low stats, it will be too humiliating. Besides, it's Christmas. I don't want to be jobless, my family needs me. I got a lot of job opportunities that I already turned down because of my commitment to this singing contest thing which is I really don't want to do.... HELP....Posted 1 month ago

- The solution is simple: think of yourself and your family in this hard economic times, do not try to please others by hurting you and your family, be selfish on this matter, stand up and say what you feel and bite the bullet. Honesty is the best policy you can have. Take your supervisor aside and explain to him what you feel, then tell him about your intentions, but be ready to resign that day. Do this in private. And remember, you are number 1, so forget the others and what they think, you and your family is important, that's all. Good luck!
